The Winter Series will wind up after having its Main Event on January 7. The total prize pool of $25 million will be spread across 152 events that will run during this two week long online festival. All poker variants that are found on the PokerStars menu including as Omaha and the ultra-popular Hold’em will be played during the two weeks along with other popular formats.

There are several levels of buy-in events to fit player bankrolls. First there is the micro level (up to $5.50), next is the low level (up to $55), then the medium level (up to $530) and finally the high level (up to $5,200). This set up is similar to the famous Spring Championship of Online Poker’s (SCOOP), which PokerStars hosted earlier this year. The 2017 SCOOP had recently broken the record for awarding $93 million in prize money, which was the highest prize money in a single tournament.

During the series finale on January 7 there will again be different levels of buy ins and each level will come with a different guaranteed prize pool (GTD). The micro main event (which has a buy in of $2.20) will have a $50,000 prize pool, while the high main event (which has a buy in of $2,100) will have a prize pool that is estimated to be around $1.5 million.

Five Platinum Passes Up For Grabs

PokerStars has already confirmed that the Main Event winner at each level will not only be receiving the prize money but will also be receiving one of the 300 available Platinum Pass packages worth $30,000. The Platinum Pass package will be for the PokerStars Players Championship (PSPC) which will be held in January 2019 in the Bahamas. The Platinum Pass package includes a six night stay at the Atlantis Resort Nassau, as well as the $25,000 buy in to the PSPC, and $2,000 in airfare and travel expenses. The eventual winner of the PSPC will win a cool $1,000,000 in prize money.

There will also be a fifth Platinum Pass package up for grabs during the Winter Series. This will be awarded to the winner of a free tournament called the All-In Shootout. The All-In Shootout is scheduled for January 9 at 3:00 p.m. EST and is open to any player who has registered for at least one Winter Series event.

PokerStars has also announced that they will be giving out hundreds of random Winter Series tickets during their New Year’s Eve event called New Year’s Eve Magic Freeroll. The tournament will start on December 31 and as a holiday treat, PokerStars will be giving out $15,000 in free giveaways during the event.

PokerSource got its start on eBay back in 2004 giving away free poker books and free poker chips in exchange for online poker room account signups. Back then our options were limited, as we only worked with PartyPoker.

Because of the tremendous response to our promotions on eBay, we launched PokerSourceOnline. Since that time a lot has changed: although we are still known as PSO to many, we changed our name to PokerSource. We merged our immensely popular free poker money website Instant Bankroll into PokerSource and also merged the original rakeback site Frequent Flopper into PokerSource. This made us a great destination for poker players worldwide to sign up for any promotion they desired all in one place. We also added several more online poker rooms such as TigerGaming & Americas Cardroom. Finally, we added a huge selection of free poker gifts to our Points Store.

Despite all the changes, one thing has remained the same: PokerSource is still the #1 source for free poker promotions. Hundreds of thousands of poker players have joined our community and we've shipped millions of dollars in gifts to our members all over the world. If you haven't tried PokerSource yet, the only thing left to ask yourself is 'What am I waiting for?'
